Matt Sanders

Matt grew up in Framingham, Ma and has been a weather fanatic for as long as he can remember. As a child he would sit by the window for hours watching the snow fall or the lightning flash. In grade school he was always constructing weather related science projects. Matt even made a habit of telling classmates and teachers when he thought a snowstorm would cancel school.

Matt took this enthusiasm for weather to college, graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a BS in Earth Systems. He learned valuable New England forecasting skills by interning at the Boston office of the National Weather Service while at UMass. In addition to his work at Precision Weather, Matt is currently teaching and perusing a graduate degree in meteorology.

Matt is a skilled sailor and an avid kayaker. Regardless of the weather or season, you can find him cruising the waters of Downeast Maine and Cape Cod. He is also an experienced hiker, climbing extensively throughout New England. He always takes time for the Red Sox because he is a huge fan. Matt is a member of The American Meteorological Society and a SKYWARN weather spotter.
